Ripe and expressive on the nose, with notes of blackberry, blueberry, red plum and tobacco. There is a lot of depth to this wine, which has a rich, textured and full palate. The tannins are perfectly integrated with the weight of the fruit, providing structure without any astringency. There is a good streak of acidity and the Alpine salinity comes through on the finish. Bring to cellar temperature and serve with roasts, venison steaks or grilled root vegetables.
