Ucio Valley, Argentina

A multi-regional line of premium, experimental, terroir-driven wines from the finest vineyard sites of renowned Argentinian winemaker Karim Mussi. Hand-crafted wines from elevation, vinified to showcase the best from each region, drawing upon the strengths of each. These are what he considers to be the finest examples of Argentinian wine he can create. Karim believes La Consulta, a small subregion of the Uco Valley is the perfect home for Bordeaux varietals in Argentina. Surrounded by some of the finest winemakers in the country, such as Achaval Ferrer, this new appelation has become highly sought after, and new plantings are occurring at a breakneck pace. Alandes Paradoux Red is a multi-vintage wine, crafted specifically to showcase what Karim thinks is the perfect expression of an Argentinian Bordeaux blend. Using all 5 Bordeaux varietals, with a fair sprinkling of Cabernet Franc, which he believes has huge potential in the region, the wine is powerful, yet restrained. The “clenched fist in a velvet glove”. Extremely refined but with that wallop of pure fruit you expect from the sun-drenched region.
