Small batch wines, extremely limited quantities, which sell out directly from the winery every vintage. There is a waiting list to obtain these wines. Winery is owned by 3 young men who grew up together in Occidental, working as vineyard hands and cellar rats. Max Theriot (the actor) grew up working his father’s (esteemed B.A. Theriot) vineyard, Chris Streiter at Williams Selyem. The winemaker is Thomas Rivers Brown, the first American to receive a perfect 100 from Wine Spectator and recipient of over 25 110 point wines from Robert Parker and Spectator. Owner of Rivers-Marie and former winemaker for wineries such as Turley and Schrader. Wines use French oak and are driven by fruit. Bright and full of nervy acidity, these are all sustainably farmed and minimal interventionist
The blockbuster of the winery, sourced from a block of Pinot originally farmed by Kosta Browne. Hugely textured with tannins and acidity, offering notes of blackberry, anise and spicebox on the nose. Flavours of blueberry, black cherry, damp earth and sweet vanilla with a long, intense finish.
