In the 30+ years that I have spent in bars and restaurants, 20 as a sommelier, I have always been drawn to wines that speak to the best expression of a region, the “terroir” (though I find the term frequently overused), as well as wines that offer true expressions of the fruit.

I am an “acid freak” and look for the balancing freshness of acidity as well as wines that are food-worthy, as they show their best when properly paired with a meal. For these reasons, our portfolio gravitates towards wineries that offer the right balance of freshness, age-worthiness and fruit character.

Amanda Ramsay
Wine Director

Amanda’s first wine jobs involved picking grapes in PEI and working hospitality floors as a way to put herself through university. After moving to Ottawa in 2013, she joined the world of fine dining and became increasingly passionate about the industry. Amanda has experience as an assistant sommelier and has worked harvest positions at several wineries throughout Ontario. She has completed the Prud’homme Beer Certificate, the Algonquin College Sommelier Program, WSET Level 3 and is enrolled to complete WSET Level 4 with aspirations to obtain a Master Sommelier designation.

Anne-Marie Foré
Brand Ambassador

Anne-Marie became hooked to the world of restaurants at the young age of 15, as a dishwasher at Pizza Hut. Driven by her passion for amazing wine, food and customer service, she spent the next 20+ years working every role imaginable in the hospitality industry. She holds a Sommelier Certificate as well as an Event Management Certificate from Algonquin College. As the Buyers+Cellars Brand Ambassador for Rosehall Run Winery (Prince Edward County), Anne-Marie brings an infectious passion and knowledge for these great wines to our team.

Ryan Gilchrist
Business Development & Territory Manager

Ryan is a seasoned wine professional, having led the Ontario sales efforts of a large Tier-1 Consignment Agency for almost 10 years. In addition, he has demonstrated experience in supplier relations, portfolio development, supply chain management and sales analytics. Spearheading our business development efforts as well as our Toronto sales program, his passion for wine and exceptional client service are a valuable addition to our team. Ryan is a WSET Diploma candidate.

DIKA GRASEVINA 2019

The everyday wine of Central Europe, Graševina is also known as Welschriesling. It is one of the most popular white wine grapes in Croatia, and is so common that it is widely considered to be indigenous. Graševina is a dry, fresh, aromatic white wine with apple-like notes. On the nose, the 2019 Graševina offers notes of cut grass and dried hay, elderflower and green apple. On the palate, minerality mixes with citrus, stone fruit and bright acidity.
