Intensely aromatic, with notes of blackberry, cherry, ginger and black tea. The palate is refined, but mouth-filling. Balance is supplied by ample acidity, with soft tannins in the background. A vivacious red, it sits heavier on the palate with its heady alcohol. There is a “crunchy” minerality underlying the primary fruit that adds complexity on the finish. Chill lightly and enjoy with antipasti, grilled burgers or tangy, ripened goat cheese.
