Bright purple in the glass. Very pronounced aromas of black licorice, white pepper, black currant and plum. The palate is lush and rich, but the tannins are quite mild. There is a spine of acidity that keeps the wine from being too heavy, but this is no lightweight! On the palate, you’ll find kirsch, black cherry and raspberry, with a small hint of bell pepper in the background. Serve at cellar temperature with burgers, pizza, or grilled portobellos.
