Alberto Longo’s 3rd generation farm and winery is located in northern Puglia, outside of the town Lucera. A farm in the full sense of the word, producing pasta, olive oils, fruits and vegetables. Alberto’s driving passion is to bring international attention to his native territory of Daunia. Along with the consulting of the the brilliant Graziano Grassini, the winery aims to feature the rustic yet balanced nature of the region’s indigenous varietals and uniqueness of the terroir in Puglia. Historically significant, with settlements dating back thousands of years, the wines from Longo have modern sensibilities, but the telltale rusticity and bombastic nature and style of Puglia’s wines is still important. The winery organically and sustainably produces wines in 2 different sites, one located in the territory of the DOP Cacc’e Mmitte di Lucera, with 7 hecatres, and a further 25 hecatres in the Masseria Celentano. The winery is uniquely focused on sustainability, employing a geothermal plant, and solar panels, along with a strict water usage policy.
